According to the REC’s latest JobsOutlook report, agency workers, umbrella company employees and limited company contractors will become a vital compenent in the economic recovery.
The survey, which included representatives from some of the largest blue chip employers in the country, found that more than 85% of respondents anticipate an increase in the number of interim workers they use. This is up 2% from REC’s previous report and further evidence of the growing need for a more flexible supply of labour.
A spokesperson from the REC said that the latest report shows a continuing and sustainable demand for freelance professionals throughout the UK. The REC anticipate further rises in the employment of agency workers as employers attempt to re-build their permanent workforce following the recession.
Since the election, the new government have once again pledged it’s intention not to proceed with the controversial rise in Employer’s National Insurance contributions or the so called ‘tax on jobs’. This should provide employers with more breathing space to expand their business whilst freeing up cash flow and placing less pressure on payroll administration.
The REC have further re-iterated it’s desire to play a key role in delivering the right economic and political conditions for recruiters, agency workers and umbrella companies.
