IT contracting market driven forward by technical jobs

According to a recently released research study, the information technology sector’s interim worker growth is being driven by high demand for technical jobs.

Chief executive of the firm that conducted the survey, Matt Barrie, remarked that he believed that IT specialist recruitment was being ramped up by firms as they switch to more specialised software that requires high levels of technical knowledge. In fact, out of the more than 230,000 posted IT jobs in Q3 2012, many of these positions called for specialised knowledge of subjects such as PHP, User Interface, jQuery, and HTML 5, while demand for experienced freelancers or umbrella service company contractors with knowledge of Software Architecture, Android, MySQL, and CSS was also quite high.

Mr Barrie commented further on the new report, stating how it seems to be quite true how web interconnectivity and software is leading to everything being re-imagined. It seems software is becoming an incredibly important facet to nearly every industry and that cloud software tools – made possible only by the internet – are helping to perform nearly every job function in every sector, the chief executive added

It’s not just advanced specialist knowledge that is in demand either, according to the survey. In fact, the number of positions for those with the requisite skills to create web pages – which are slightly less specialised than other high-demand skill sets – have increased by a noteworthy 40 per cent from the three months ending in September.
