APSCo has just released a new online assessment tool to help recruiters benchmark the progress of their consultants, a move that could raise standards and benefit umbrella company contractors.
The Recruitment Practice Standard has three assessment levels based on the experience level of a candidate. Level 1 is for recruiters with up to 12 months experience, Level 2 – up to 3 years and Level 3 for candidates with up to 5 years experience.
Questions are split into six modules and consist of around 120 randomly selected questions from a library bank to ensure that no two examinations are identical.
Recruiters who have been successful in the assessments will be allowed to place the initials RPS after their names and recruitment companies that participate will be entitled to put the RPS logo on their website to show their commitment to employee development.
The chief executive of APSCo, Ann Swain, said the qualification was unique in the professional staffing sector. It has been designed specifically for consultants who recruit business professionals. Although there are other qualifications available in the market place, none specifically target the high end of the market nor are they tailored for distance learning.
The Recruitment Practice Standard is part of our aim to raise professional standards in the recruitment industry, she continued. APSCo is certain that the RPS logo and initials will quickly become recognised as a sign of quality and give recruiters a competitive advantage when it comes to competing for business.
