The window closes faster than you think, so good on you for starting. What actually matters, in order: standing height, setup time, and vestibule space. Everything else is noise. Denier ratings and hydrostatic head numbers get argued about endlessly and affect your trip almost zero. And here is the honest part: your first trip will have problems no matter what you buy. Go somewhere close to home the first time so bailing out is an option. Removes all the pressure.
