Please advise on the best way to organize the delivery of construction materials if they arrive in containers from abroad but then need to be distributed to several construction sites in different cities. Does it make sense to arrange for intermediate transshipment near the port?

Yes, this is a fairly common practice in construction logistics. The container is delivered to a special warehouse near the port, where the materials are unloaded, sorted, and grouped into new batches for specific projects. They are then shipped by truck directly to the construction sites. This approach helps better control inventory and reduces transportation costs. You can see an example of how such a transload facility works by following the link.
